Design Styles: A Mid Century Modern Bedroom

Today I’m starting something new here on the blog. I’ve been chatting a lot in my blog posts lately about how I’m fine tuning my style has helped me create a home that I love. This isn’t something that I learned overnight or just decided on one day, but it’s been several years of trying different styles here and there to see what works best for our home and matches our taste.

I thought it would be helpful and fun to explore different design styles every month to help those that have not found their footing yet in their own homes. You don’t have to chose just one style but it’s super helpful to see which styles you are drawn to and love so that when you are out shopping you will have a better idea about what will work for you and make your home feel like you.

This week we are exploring Mid Century Modern design style in the bedroom in collaboration with All Modern. This timeless style has straight, sleek lines with a focus in both organic and geometric prints. When I think about Mid Century Modern furniture, I think of beautiful wood tones, tapered legs, and simple lines.

I’ve always loved focusing on the bedroom design in our home because with two little ones, life can get busy fast. Having a space to wind down and relax is essential for me and my husband. It helps us reconnect with each other as well as providing a space where we can relax and recharge.

I’ve scoured the All Modern site to pick my favorite Mid Century Modern pieces for you. This is my version of MCM design style and you can adapt each piece to fit your home. Creating a bedroom you love doesn’t have to cost thousands of dollars, the key is creating a space that represents your style slowly over time. All of these pieces would be a great addition to any space alone or in a grouping.

Have an empty corner in your bedroom? Create a sitting area with a comfy chair, add a side table and floor lamp to create a little cozy moment would be a perfect addition.

Don’t have the space? It could be something as simple as adding a stunning chandelier like the one above to it will instantly transform your space.

Or you can add color and texture to your bedroom by adding an area rug, I have the one above in my bedroom and it instantly elevated my space. The rug is absolutely beautiful and the material feels delicious under your feet.

A small change with big impact will always lead to paint. Chose a dark, moody color for a dramatic change with minimal damage to your budget.
